Less than 10% of the population of Denmark is overweight. It might be connected to the fact that the rye bread is a staple of the Danish diet?

Research has shown that eating bread helps to keep you feeling full for up to eight hours. Rye bread contains a form of fiber that is not found in other whole grains breads that expands in the digestive tract, which reduces hunger. Although it can affect cells secreting insulin to regulate blood sugar level, which also has an effect on appetite.
